God’s Mother

God's mother is the most powerful woman in history. Holy Mary mother of God is a good example for women and men alike. She was a strong woman who accepted her role as a wife and mother to God's son Jesus Christ with humility and obedience. In this blog post, we will explore God's mother's role in the Christian faith and why she is so important in daily life.

Who is God's Mother?

The mother of God is often referred to as the Virgin Mary. Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ. She was born in Nazareth, Israel during the time of King Herod. She married Joseph and had Jesus Christ with him. The Catholic Church has always honored her as a saint because of her faithfulness to God throughout her life. Mary has never sinned or even thought about committing an act against god's will. Catholics call her also "Our Lady" or "Queen of Heaven".

Why Do We Call Mary the Mother of God?

Mary, mother of Jesus gave birth to the Son of God, therefore she is called the Mother of God. In the Bible God's mother, Holy Mary is mentioned many times. She was a humble lady who lived in Nazareth and had a son named Jesus. God granted her the miracle of conceiving without any male intervention or seed from anyone else. The angel Gabriel visited her and told her that she will have a son to be called Jesus, God's Son! God's nature is in Himself. Therefore, Mary was not God. But God was in Mary, so she is God's mother.

Can God Be Mother?

The Mother of God lived among us and she still lives with us supernaturally. She is the most blessed of all women because her son – our Lord – became man through her. Since Mary was a human being, she is not a goddess herself. However, she has huge power as a mediatrix of all divine graces. We can pray to Mary as we would to a good mother or friend. As humans, we can ask her for help, protection, consolation, and counsel. God allowed Mary to be the human Mother of God in order that we might turn with confidence and trust to her.

The Motherhood of God in the Bible

The biblical prophecy of the Old Testament became flesh through the birth of Jesus Christ. The Son of God took on by human nature. The Childbirth of the son of God was a miracle. God's mother gave birth to his son without having sexual intercourse with Joseph or any man before him. The Bible in New Testament says that Mary was visited by the Angel Gabriel and told she had been chosen as God's mother.

Their fear is met by the angel Gabriel with the words:

"Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God" (Luke 1:26-38).

God has a good plan. Mary is to trust him. She agreed but asked how it could be possible since she did not recognize a man at this point in time.

The Annunciation of the Lord

The angel answered her: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore, the child will also be called holy and Son of God."

Mary was the mother chosen by God because she received His grace.

Birth of Jesus

We learn about the birth of Jesus from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

"Today in the city of David the Savior is born to you! (Luke 2:11)."

"Mary, however, kept everything that had happened in her heart and thought about it. The shepherds returned, praising God and glorifying him for what they had heard and seen, for everything had been as they had been told." (Luke 2:19-20)

How Could Jesus Die If He Was God?

Christ is a king, he is high and exalted. We worship and praise him as our Lord and Savior. But Christ can also make himself very small so that he is a brother even to the last of all men. The supreme and almighty God comes to us on earth as a small and helpless child. And his mission was his death at the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.

"For God so loved the mankind that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

What is the meaning of blessed virgin Mary?

The Holy Virgin Mary, God's mother is the woman who gave birth to Jesus Christ. She was a virgin before and after giving birth to God himself on earth in human form. Mary says about herself, "I am the Immaculate Conception." It means that Mary was conceived without sin. Her name 'Mary' means "star of the sea" or “lady” or “exalted one." The Catholic Church venerates Mary as Mother of God because she gave birth to God Jesus.

God's mother and her role in God's Plan

God's Mother had and has an important role to play as she became her son's companion, protector, and advocate.

"God has given all graces to the Blessed Virgin Mary" (Pope Leo XIII). Mary is the mediatrix of all graces. Jesus is the source of all graces. Mary gave us Jesus. She is the universal dispenser of all graces. This means all graces pass through Mary's hands. Pope Pius X expresses himself in a similar way: "Mary is the administrator of all graces. The source is Christ." Jesus is the head, Mary is the neck, and the limbs are we believers. Grace can only be affected by God!

Mary has unlimited power of intercession

God's Mother is intercessory omnipotence! In the breviary readings for the feast of Mary it says:

"With me is all grace of good conduct and truth, with me all hope of life and virtue. Come unto me, all ye that desire me, and be satisfied with my fruits. For my spirit is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance sweeter than honey and honey germ. My remembrance endureth forever and ever. Those who enjoy my hunger for more, and those who drink me thirst for more. Whoever listens to me will not be put to shame, and whoever labors for me will not sin. He who glorifies me receives eternal life. "

Mary is the mistress of God's goods because she was so faithful. She distributes the graces to whom she wants, when she wants, why she wants, and as much as she wants. She is the one to ask for!

The importance of Mary in Christianity

Mary is venerated in the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches. The Catholic and Eastern Christian Church honors God's mother, Holy Mary Mother of God. The churches believe she is the mother of Jesus and the queen of Heaven, that she was born without sin. That God chose her to be the mother of his only son, Jesus Christ.

God's Mother was not a woman who followed God due to her ego or self-interest. She did so because it required obedience and humility on her part. Mary is viewed as one of few women that God personally spoke with directly about his plans for the world. Mary plays a special role in God's plan for the Church and redemption.

The Marian apparitions such as in Guadalupe, Fatima, Lourdes are an important part of the work of redemption. Maria appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal on October 13th, 1917. The feast day of the Holy Mary Mother of God is celebrated on August 15th - the Assumption of Our Lady into Heaven. Mary is the Greatest Woman Ever. The Holy Mary Mother of God will be the woman who will crush the serpent's head, just as it is prophesied.

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15)

The serpent that tempted Eve is a symbol of Satan, according to Revelation 12:9. He seduced the first humans to rebel against God and against His commandments. God then announced the battle between God and Satan and the respective descendant.

God's mother: what this means for Christians and Everyday life

St. Mary, Mother of God, is the most venerated woman in Christianity and in the world. She is a source of inspiration and veneration for Christians. The Blessed Virgin Mary is a powerful intercessor for our intentions in Heaven. By praying the Rosary, one can ask Mary for intercession and mediation of graces. It is recommended to pray the powerful rosary regularly and to integrate it into our daily life!

Conclusion

Mary is not only a holy person but God's own mother. Her virginity is central to the Catholic faith. The Mother of God has a special role in the Christian life. Whether you're Catholic or not, there are lessons from Blessed Virgin Mary's life that can help us lead better ones today! Step down with confidence to the throne of grace. Address great wishes to her and implore from her! Ask for the increase of sanctifying grace. Ask for helping graces. To understand God better and better. To grasp the greatness of Mary.
